It’s that time of year again, where the air is filled with merry melodies and the spirit of celebration. And what better way to embrace the holiday cheer than by stepping into Holly Ruch’s Hi-Gloss Red Bar? With its gleaming gold leaf interiors and the exquisite touch of Lee Jofa papers adorning the ceiling, this little jewel box is ready to open and sing! Its vibrant red hue beckons you to indulge in the warmth and merriment that any festive season can bring.
From crown to baseboard, every inch of the walls and cabinets underwent an extensive process of priming, sanding, skimming, priming once again, puttying, and sanding yet again, until they were perfectly smooth and prepared for the application of lacquer. The chosen hue of red, is not a bold primary red, but rather a softer and inviting aura reminiscent of ripe, succulent tomatoes. The color was inspired by the elegant Lee Jofa paper used on the ceiling. Holly meticulously explored numerous paint color families until she ultimately landed on the perfect match: a captivating shade from Farrow & Ball known as Incarnadine.
The Color: A classic crimson
Our richest crimson originally takes its name from Latin, but is now a much used term for crimsons and reds. Similar to the deep glossy red used by David Hicks at Barons Court in the 1970s, Incarnadine is unashamedly classic and glamorous. It can be used to sumptuous effect in halls when offset with Tanner’s Brown on woodwork, or feel more edgy and graphic when paired with a bright white.
