The sky's the limit!

The sky's the limit!

I’m so excited to share this super cool project in Downtown Greensboro! Collaborative efforts like this one are sure to yield stellar results! Inspire by Color is honored to be invited to join the inimitable Alem Dickey Keel Interior Design and Wolfe Homes for this special project, high above the Greensboro skyline.

If you zoom into the top of that Centerpoint building, at the middle of Greensboro’s beautiful skyline, you’ll see the penthouse apartment we’re collaborating on with Wolfe Homes and Alem Dickey Keel Interior design

I’ll share a lot more, as the project starts to take shape, but I wanted to give you a chance to see what it looks now. Come along with me as we take a quick pass through.

The biggest challenge with creating “natural” finishes is that raw materials take clear coats very differently. Solid wood comes out noticeably different than veneered wood, so we have to create subtle stains and shade toners to balance the color from piece to piece. This sample study was developed using solvent and water based finishes.

This apartment is going to be wrapped in white oak for the very natural finish. I just love how the herringbone floor is coming together, but the best thing about this place right now is the view!

Now that we’ve seen a little bit about the project from up here, let’s jump back down to the ADK Design Studio at Revolution Mills, where all the magic happens!

One the first things that hit me when I walked into their studio for the first time - from the realization that everyone who works here is just gorgeous - is that the space is so inspiring - with so many textures, fabrics, colors, and finishes to pick from.

Do you remember what it was like in school, the first time you opened a box of Crayola 64? It’s kinda like that and then some - just so inspiring!

So when you get the the collective of creatives together, design magic really happens. I can’t wait to share more as this project continues to take shape!

This photo shoot was done by Aura Lake Photography. She such a great host and director behind the camera!

See below, a short video highlighting everything so far…

There will definitely be more to come with this project! Thanks so much for following along and we’ll see you soon!
